True Autumn’s best colors include all of those that fit withing the color dimensions mentioned above, but specifically include tomato red, coral, pumpkin, mustard, olive, hunter green, teal, periwinkle, grape and burgundy. The loose handling of forms is also seen in the more pictorial works with flowers and urns, but the landscapes enjoy a particularly rich abstraction, and saturated color. Viking black chokeberry has red leaves that morph to purple going into winter. Looking back through your other pieces on the site, I reencountered others with the same title designation Autumn Red Tree, and saw that I commented on a related piece more than a decade ago. The design appears to loosen and unfold as it travels vertically to the bottom of the piece, ending with a fuchsia pink layer in the strata. The decorative floral design in the top, blue portion is a surprising and pleasing suspension of visual weight. ![]() I find the layering of organic elements within the space to be somewhat unusual, as I’m accustomed to expecting an open expanse at the top of the picture place, to denote sky. This hand painted silk piece appeared in a random selection on the site today, and I was enticed by the color saturation within the landscape-oriented abstraction. ![]()
